We are proud to have seven board-certified specialists – in the areas of surgery, internal medicine, critical care, neurology and behavior – on our medical team. Board-certified specialists are considered experts in their areas of expertise. They have voluntarily engaged in advanced clinical training and experiential learning for several years following veterinary school, including the completion of an internship and residency under the supervision of board-certified veterinarians.
After fulfilling the requirements of their program, these individuals must pass a rigorous proficiency examination in order to achieve board certification and become a Diplomate of that specialty. Specialists bring greater understanding to the most serious and complex cases, and thus are called upon by general practitioners when advanced knowledge and cutting-edge skills are required. Because some medical conditions can affect different parts of your pet’s body and overall health, our group of specialists is able collaborate on cases that require multiple types of expertise, ensuring that animal patients in need are receiving the very best care possible.
